Wolf Container has access to source a variety of grades of mica useful for many applications. This includes:
- Muscovite and Phlogopite options available
- Sizes ranging from 1 micron to 15 micron
- Brightness ranging from 80 to 92
- Available in 50lb bags, 2,000 lb supersacks, bulk truck, or bulk rail
The mica Wolf has sourced has excellent flexural and bridging characteristics, which contribute to crack resistance in coating applications. Its platy nature also enhances release performance in applications such as rubber molding and sheet production.
In plastics markets, mica enhances the flexural modulus and heat deflection temperature, making it an ideal reinforcement for polypropylene and nylon composites. It is chemically inert and resistant to thermal decomposition.
Mica can also be used in aqueous applications such as joint compounds, sealants and adhesives.
